Course Description

We often tend to regard "region" as self-evident and fixed unity. However, in fact, "region" is also a framework related to the long-term human activities.
In this lecture, we will learn about the "vanished" ethnic world in southwest China. The "Lolo-ethnic world" of Southwest China, which existed for a certain time in history, was ostensibly "disappeared", but it continues to survive in a different form as it is transformed into a part of China. We will consider about the phenomenon in which the transition of unification and pluralism, and of "ethnic" and "local" in China.
