Course Description

The Middle East is a region full of ethnic and religious diversity. The diversity is both the interest and the difficulty of studying this region. In this course, students will learn about the situation in each country, regional issues, and social and cultural characteristics of the Middle East, taking into account its historical background.
Building on the content of "World Affairs (Middle East) I" in the spring semester, we will focus on "Israel," "Iraq," "Syria," and "Lebanon" as the countries in the Middle East. In addition, students will learn about the "refugee problem" and "sectarian conflicts" that the Middle East region is facing. Through these studies, students will acquire a basic knowledge of the Middle East and understand and explain the characteristics and issues of each country in the region.
