Course Description

Cultural anthropology is a discipline that discusses possibility and inevitability of cultural construction, and thus provides a useful perspective for understanding the diverse and complex problems of encounters with people of different cultural backgrounds. In this lecture, we will study various theories of anthropology of tourism focusing on the viewpoint of cultural constructivism, and examine the cultural meaning of various tourism phenomena.
