Course Description

This class aims to provide students with a multifaceted understanding of the liberal arts, which are prerequisites for studying Japanese culture.There are customs that we casually perform in our daily lives, and knowledge and ways of thinking that we have learned from our family members without realizing it. Folklore is the study to explain our life and culture in the present age by using these naturally acquired actions, knowledge, and ideas that have been handed down from generation to generation as materials.In this class, we will study Japanese culture from various perspectives through specific festivals, festivals and rituals to see how our knowledge and ideas are manifested in our actions.
