Course Description

Cases about cross-cultural friction or disagreement in the world are used for discussion. Students focus on differences in cultural values, conflicts between traditional and modern ideas, differences between reality and perception, and other conflicts that occur between people from different backgrounds using case studies from Japan, Europe, the United States, South Asia, and Central Asia. Students are required to picture themselves in various situations and express their opinions in group discussions. The purpose of this class is for students to understand cross-cultural conflicts or social issues in the world by applying their own experience, and to build their own opinions on such topics.
