Course Description

In the “Reading Materials in Western History 1B-II" we will learn the political and social circumstances of the Renaissance Florence that would influence Machiavelli’s political thought in the “Prince (1532)”. We will improve not only reading comprehension skills, but also the ability to reflect on the content of the original text within the historical context. All students are required to prepare presentations (al least one or two times), and to take an active part in the general discussions.
