授業の概要（ねらい）

この授業では、西洋と日本の社会の本質について探究する。 具体的には、日本の心理学を理解するための重要な概念となっている「甘え」だけでなく、「自由」を含む主要なリベラルな概念に焦点を当てます。 それは政府と社会の関係、民主主義、社会運動のような（市民）社会の役割を再考する。 また、私たちが住む今日の社会について深く再考します。

・Understanding the difference between Western and Japanese societies and its discussion internationally 西欧と日本の社会の違い、またそれに関する国際的な議論を理解する
・Understanding the international viewpoints on Japanese culture and society 日本の文化や社会が、海外からどう理解されているのかを考える

成績評価の方法および基準

・Active class participation (discussion) 積極的な授業参加 40%
・Presentation プレゼンテーション 30%
・Final paper 期末レポート 30%

・Read the materials beforehand 配布された資料を事前に読む
・Submit the assignments when given in advance 事前に与えられた課題を提出する

その他履修上の注意事項

・This class is conducted mostly in English (materials, discussion, reflection papers) 主な使用言語は英語（資料、ディスカッション、リフレクション・ペーパー）
・Except for special reasons, you need to attend every class. If you are absent more than 5 times, you cannot get the credit. 特別な事情がない限り、15 回の授業すべてに出席すること。 5 回以上欠席すると、 単位が与えられません。
