授業の概要（ねらい）

この授業では、秋学期にアメリカに留学する学生を対象に、英語で会話し、アメリカに関して多角的な視点から考察する。また、アメリカの歴史についても学修する。

授業の到達目標

・To be able to communicate in English more fluently 英語をより流暢に話せるようになる
・To obtain the basic knowledge about American culture アメリカ文化に関する基礎知識を修得する
・To learn how to research using the relevant resources 資料を使用しながら、テーマに沿って調査・ 研究する方法を学ぶ
・To learn American English expression アメリカ英語の表現を学ぶ
・To enhance presentation skills プレゼンテーション能力を身につける

成績評価の方法および基準

・Active class participation and assignment 積極的な授業参加と提出物 40%
・Presentation プレゼンテーション 30%
・Final Exam (Oral Exam) 期末テスト (口頭テスト) 30％

準備学修の内容

・Read the materials beforehand 配布された資料を事前に読む
・Submit the assignments when given in advance 事前に与えられた課題を提出する
・Presentation preparation (research, PPT slides, script) プレゼンテーション準備（資料調査、スライドの作成、原稿の作成）

その他履修上の注意事項

・This class is conducted mostly in English (materials, discussion, reflection papers) 主な使用言語は英語（資料、ディスカッション、リフレクション・ペーパー）
・Except for special reasons, you need to attend every class. If you are absent more than 5 times, you cannot get the credit. 特別な事情がない限り、15 回の授業すべてに出席すること。 5 回以上欠席すると、 単位が与えられません。
