授業の概要（ねらい）

The purpose of this course is to deepen students' understanding of Asian economic history. In this class, we will discuss modern history of Asia from the perspective of modernization and westernization. Especially we will focus our study upon the cases of Japan and China. We will decide the details of the class after the first and the second meeting. So, the class schedule below is a temporary one.

授業の到達目標

We aim to get a basic understanding of Asian economic history and to become familiar with the important issues existing there. We also try to understand the basic knowledge of world history and the meaning of globalization.

Class participation including presentation and discussion - 50%
Term paper- 50%

準備学修の内容

Reading materials will be distributed to the students. It is necessary to read the materials assigned in advance. Students will be requested to write papers and distribute them to the participants.
