Course Description

The history of regional development policy in the postwar Japan is focused in this class. The concepts and policy processes from the 1st to 5th Comprehensive National Development Plans are mainly discussed.

Course Objectives

The students will get an essential knowledge to understand the relation between regional development policy and regional economy through the history of regional development policy in the postwar Japan.

Grading Policy

Term examination (60%), short tests, short reports, discussions in the class (40% in total).
