Course Description

This course is designed to be an introduction to the theory and practice of translation and interpretation from English to Japanese and vice versa. Students will learn the fundamentals of translation and interpretation mainly through videos, movies, and other visual and audio materials. Particular attention will be paid to cultural differences which contribute to the different conceptual frameworks and expressions. Students will be expected to unravel those differences behind translations.
