Course Description

We will learn about the state of music culture in modern Japan. During the Meiji period, with the establishment of the modern nation, the culture that came from the West took root in Japan. How did the culture of the general public change in this process? Based on this interest, this lecture will look at some of the topics of changes in music culture since the modern era.
