Course Description

We will learn about the state of popular entertainment culture in modern Japan. During the Meiji period, with the establishment of the modern nation, the culture that came from the West took root in Japan. In this process, how did the culture of the general public change? In this lecture, we will look at the post-modern changes in yose entertainment based on this interest.
